About the Business
Well-known Sunderland businessman Martin Telfer, of Martin Telfer Carpets, has recently opened carpets showrooms at The Barnes Roundabout in Sunderland, The Galleries in Washington and Concord in Washington.
Martin, who started in the carpet industry almost 30 years ago working for his father at Cotton & Telfer Carpets, continued working in the trade following his fathers retirement, supplying and fitting carpets for his own customers and some of the best retailers in the industry.
Martin's son Liam has also been in the trade since leaving school, and has worked closely with his Dad and taken on board his wealth of experience. Liam felt that the time was right to manage his own branch. Now the father-and-son team are pushing the business forward and have a store managed by Liam at The Co-op Car Park, Houghton-le-Spring under the Martin Telfer Carpets brand.
